Thrifty Thursday featuring Violet Scuba knit

Hey y’all, it’s one of my favorite days of the week, Thrifty Thursday! My name is Diane Rogers and this week we‘re featuring the beautiful Violet scuba knit for 30% off. For this Thrifty Thursday I used the free Twirly Skirt Pattern by Halla Patterns. You, can also get it free by joining their Facebook group and getting the free code under Announcements. Here’s a link to their Facebook group if you’re not a member. https://www.facebook.com/groups/967242096651172/?ref=share

The Twirly Skirt Pattern features a knee length full circle skirt with two waistband options (fold over and regular) and pockets. The pattern was very easy to put together with its trimless pages and came with a very easy to follow tutorial. I love circle skirts and they are a staple in my wardrobe. I love the fact that they are easy to make and can be worn all year long. With it being fall, I felt the Violet Scuba knit would be perfect! The deep plum color just screams fall to me! If you’ve never worked with Scuba knit, here‘s your chance. It is a structured knit and is great for making any type of clothing that requires a more structured fabric. I also love the fact that scuba is a thicker knit and doesn’t show every lump and/or bump on your body. It’s also very easy to sew since it has some structure in it. It would be a great knit for any sewist who is new to knits. Hemming circle skirts isn’t always the easiest, so I recommend using a hem tape. I love the Pellon brand 1/2 inch EZ steam II hem tape. You can buy it at Walmart, Joanns, or Amazon. The hem tape makes it much easier and also makes the hem look crisper and prettier.

Whether your new to knits, or if you’ve never sewn with scuba, or you’re looking for a beautiful fall floral here’s an opportunity to get the beautiful Violet or any other fabric in the Scuba Collection for 30% off today only!

Also if you’ve never made a Halla Pattern or are looking for a great circle skirt pattern go check out the Twirly Skirt pattern.
