Blade Tank/Marina Dress Mash

ree

When Amelia Lane Designs releases a new pattern (or four!): it means exponentially more mash opportunities! and I want to celebrate by doing as many as I can think of!

ree

I started from the basics and decided to mash the Blade Tank and Dream Tee in dress length. (see that post here)

Now it's time to mash with my other favorite ALD dress pattern, the Marina Tank!

ree

I started by tracing my blade tank pattern piece (lengthened/graded already) onto tracing paper.

ree

Then I laid the Marina dress piece (also lengthened/graded) underneath. The front is pretty simple. Just basically longer with side slits. (Defer to the blade neckline and shape but use the Marina to line it up)

ree

The back can be a little more tricky because the Blade is cut mirrored and the Marina is cut on fold. I went with mirrored and tried lining up the length, using the front piece length as a guide.

Here's my final pieces laid out and ready to cut

ree

Then proceed exactly as the blade tutorial. Pin the center back and side seams, sew. (I find it easiest to start pinning from the bottom so you don't accidentally pin the side slits closed)

Attach the yoke and the binding pieces

Attaching the binding

Pin the binding over for topstitching and pin the hem. Topstitch/coversitch.

Done!

What patterns should I mash next?!
