New Arrivals Round Up 9/6/19

Release Date: Friday, September 6th

See what our talented sewists were inspired to make!

Athletics for every activity level

Athletics are a variety of fabrics, each varies in its contents (check the listing) but are grouped together because they're well suited for whatever kind of workout your day brings you.

Nylon content makes these fabrics moisture whisking, polyester makes them soft, spandex makes them stretchy and cotton makes them breathable. Check the specific product listing for the content breakdown. Information about UPF rating is also included for each fabric!

Each fabric weight is also listed. Heavier fabrics will be stronger to sew something more compressible (with more negative ease, meaning it's actually smaller than you and designed to stretch when you put it on, like leggings) while lighter fabrics make for cool tops.

Amelia Lane Designs created this handy info sheet to help understand all the fabric bases!

Coordinating colors for more combinations

ALD strives to source fabrics that coordinate so that as you make pieces they'll naturally coordinate with each other.

In keeping that balance, this stocking includes a 4 prints and 2 solids that not only coordinate with each other, they also coordinate with the existing available athletics fabrics from Amelia Lane Designs!

Build your ultimate athletics capsule by pinning the fabrics you would love to pair to a Pinterest board! The product listings have a handy "Pin It" button!

Petal is a heavier weight athletic fabric, similar to the weight of the supplex.

Kendel used Petal to hack an Annelaine Mountainside Tank to have elastic in the back. She also made Apostrophe MyFit shorts with added lilac Athletic Brushed Poly.

I am trying to walk more on my lunch hour and breaks but I also need to dress up for work. So I used Petal to make a 5oo4 Sheila Dress with Ninja shorts under. That way I can just change my shoes and do a quick lap!

Emily used lilac ABP and Pewter as Petal coordinates. She hacked the Rival from G+G to use as a running top -- paired here with black Dri Tex running tights

Diane made bootcut fitted pants that are in testing with Petite Stitchery. For her top she used E&M Colorblock swim top with lilac athletic brushed poly.

Brandi made this cute little workout outfit using Petal and the Celadon Supplex. They go so well together! This is the Pickletoes 10k Racerback tank and Poilliwogs Leggings.

Rachel made a cute Mommy and Me set with Petal and bright turquoise jersey moss. She used the Apostrophe MyFit leggings for herself and the 5oo4 Kid's ninja leggings for her little. She also managed to get a Tropical Getaway top for her little out of the yardage too!

Gina used Petal and Lilac to make the Mamma Can Do It Rosie ruffle leggings, Clementine Adeline as a tunic, and even had scraps left for the Made by Jack's Mum speedy pants

Phoenix is feels like a tricot, it's cool to the touch, lightweight but not too thin.

Brandi made the Phoenix Pants in Phoenix Fabric! How creative! These are by Boo! designs. She even had enough left over to color block a triple play tank by Pickletoes patterns.

Again in my attempt to do more walking at work, I used phoenix for this super lightweight dress for work, it's an Annelaine Charleston. I have matching Phoenix Ninja Shorts underneath for summer and Ninja leggings in the Aqua Poly Cotton Lycra fabric for winter! (There are three photos and an arrow to scroll)

Jan made this awesome Geo color blocked outfit using the Apostrophe MyFit Leggings Geo Pocket option, Phoenix with black ATY, orange pop and celadon for coordinates. She also used the color blocked top from the Ellie and Mac Zip Swimsuit pattern.

Palms is a unique base that is really soft. Imagine the Kirby fabric if it were brushed.

Jessica made this great cowl neck tee with the Palms fabric.

Laura made this cute set with the 5oo4 Michelle Fitted Tee in Palms with coordinating Shenanigans skirt in Aqua Poly Cotton Lycra.

I hacked the Ellie and Mac two piece swim suit top to be fully reversible athletic crop top/bra by edging in Fold Over Elastic. I used Palms on one side and aqua poly cotton lycra on the other.

Jan used the Palms fabric with the aqua poly cotton lycra to make this set of super soft underroos. She used the MyFit Leggings pattern and the Poppy Bralette.

Sarah made a Love Notions Constellation Pullover for her mom in the super soft Palms with Aqua Poly Cotton Lyrca for the cuffs and collar. But her dad grabbed it out of the mail and wore it! I think it looks great on both of them! They need a matching set, Sarah!

The Aqua color Poly/Cotton/Lycra blend fabric feels soft like cotton lycra but is a little lighter with better recovery because of the polyester. It's great for athletics as well as casual attire.

Kendel used the Aqua Poly Cotton Lycra and the floral mesh that came only in the bundle to hack the 5oo4 Agility into this trendy workout top! Paired with the MyFit Leggings with mesh side panel.

Sonia used the Aqua Poly Cotton Lycra for this cozy Annelaine Sydney hoodie! Paired with leggings in Holly DBP

Emily chose all the softest fabrics for this summer and winter PJ mini capsule. She did joggers in charcoal poly cotton lycra, and used them for shorts in Palms as well. She also made a George and Ginger Romy Tank in the Aqua Poly Cotton Lycra.

Renee used the Aqua Poly Cotton Lycra to make this ruched back tee, perfect for casual wear and detailed sewing!

Sonia used the Annelaine Sydney for this light casual top in Shiny Peach Tricot

Alex used the shiny peach tricot to make these Rad Patterns Lucky Booty Undies into yoga shorts.

The Red Dots Fabric is a tricot (athletic/swim) just like the Melon dots already in stock. Some of the dots printed with a blur that's not very noticeable, but because of the flaw, it's steal of a deal!

Jess used the Halla Twirly Girl Skirt (free pattern) to make this Minnie Mouse Inspired outfit using the Red Dots. She was not able to cut around the flaw, so it is included in her make.

Kendel has been busy as always! More swimwear for the whole team! Big Sis got an Annelaine Monarch Swimsuit and the twincesses got Peekaboo Aloha Burn Blockers. Kendel was able to cut around the flaw because of the size of the items she made.

Brandi used the dots to make a Bella Sunshine Designs Hazel Dolman top. She was able to cut around the flaw because of the size of the item she was making.

Holly made this gathered skirt dress with the red dots. It's nice and cool for summer! She was not able to cut around the flaw so it is included in her make.
