I am starting to feel fall(ish) this week for Thrifty Thursday!
I used the Parker Double Brushed Poly to sew up the Cross Hem Tee from Winter Wear Designs. To get the Cross Hem Tee for free, you'll need to jump over to the file in their Facebook group to snag the code! Parker DBP is 30% off for today only, no code needed.
I was really pleased with the directions, fit and options on this tee, particularly for a freebie! I went with the V-neck option to challenge myself a bit, since I usually just go for the crew neck to be a bit speedier. This had my personal favorite construction of a V (overlapping the neckband points), as it tends to turn out a bit more cleanly and go through my machine more easily than the notching method.
The cross-hem portion was really cool too! You actually band the top overlap, so this (along with the neckband) can be a great place to tie in a solid coordinate, or a coordinating print.
I went with 3/4 length sleeves for back-to-school weather (no AC and Northeast September temperatures can be very variable), but you can also pick from short sleeve or long sleeves if you prefer. I shortened the bodice and sleeve pieces a bit to adjust for height, and did grade sizes per the measurement chart.
So try something new (that's a #ALDBingo square!) and snag this freebie pattern and Parker while it's 30% off! Don't forget to share your makes with #GottaBeALD too.
