New Arrivals Round Up 6/14/19

Release Date: Friday, June 14th

See what our talented sewists were inspired to make!

Athletics for every activity level

Athletics are a variety of fabrics, each varies in its contents (check the listing) but are grouped together because they're well suited for whatever kind of workout your day brings you.

Nylon content makes these fabrics moisture whisking, polyester makes them soft, spandex makes them stretchy and cotton makes them breathable.

Each fabric weight is also listed. Heavier fabrics will be stronger to sew something more compressible (with more negative ease, meaning it's actually smaller than you and designed to stretch when you put it on, like leggings) while lighter fabrics make for cool tops.

Amelia Lane Designs created this handy info sheet to help understand all the fabric bases!

Coordinating colors for more combinations

ALD strives to source fabrics that coordinate so that as you make pieces they'll naturally coordinate with each other.

In keeping that balance, this stocking includes a three prints and eight solids that coordinate!

Payson: Limited Yardage and Pre-Order

We already know that fastest fingers are going to win out tomorrow! This beautiful cactus print is going to go fast! So rather than leave anyone disappointed, we're opening a pre-order at the same time. So if you miss out on the available yardage or just want to save a few bucks, pre-order for the win!

Meanwhile, let's drool over these beautiful makes!

Jody made a Greenstyle Power sports bra with silicon backed elastic straps (notions section), Greenstyle Super G Tights in Payson.

Rosie hacked Alina by Rad for their top in the new Raspberry solid. For more info on the hack, here's their blog! Coordinated with a hacked Ellie and Mac Oasis for the tie top.

The pants are Rad lucky booty with inseam lengthened and cuffs added.

Brittanie made an Itch to Stitch Lago Tank in Payson and Rasperry. She's also wearing her charcoal circular knit leggings from the Inspired Bundle a few rounds ago.

Jody made a Studio to Street Top to wear over using the new Red-heathered athletic fabric

I also sewed up the new red heathered fabric. I can tell you that it feels just like the bubble gum I used to buy as a kid that came in a tape measure shaped case. It's soooo smooth! It feels like it would be too light for leggings but it's actually held up to a few of us doing squat tests! I made the free 5oo4 Ninjas . I am also wearing an Annelaine Mountainside tank in the Lelani fabric with Caribbean athletic brushed poly bands.

Sonia made Greenstyle Inspires using the red heathered fabric with the raspberry fabric for the accents. She used the same two fabrics to make a matching sports bra with Simplicity 8560 (paper pattern). Over the top she used the new Pewter fabric for a Greenstyle Express Tank!

Sarah made herself a whole athletic capsule!

Greenstyle Sundance Jacket in Celadon with the scrap for a headband

Kendel made the Annelaine Mountainside tank in Celadon.

She also used the new charcoal fabric (a breathable athletic fabric with some cotton content) to make Peekabook Agility Leggings

This outfit is perfect for hopscotch games it looks like!

My husband has been doing an amazing job at clearing our defensible space this year. I'm no help, but I can make him a new tee to do it in! I used the Celadon circular knit fabric to make him this 5oo4 Rocky tee. He already has elbow high gloves he wears when operating his tools but sometimes when he's loading whole tree branches into the chipper he gets poked and scratched. He told me that he's really impressed with how thick this shirt is to prevent scratched but still cool enough to keep somewhat comfortable in the heat!

Gwen used the bright turquoise fabric to make an Annelaine Mountainside tank.

She paired with Greenstyle Super G's shorts in Ashville, the ombré hexagon patterned new athletic fabric.

Brittanie made a Greenstyle slope tank for her little in the bright turquoise fabric! She paired with the Chicka chicka bum bums from Peekaboo in the now sold-out Bloom athletic fabric. This will be such a cool outfit to play in this summer!

Heather made a Greenstyle Staple tank in the bright turquoise fabric and paired with Greenstyle Inspires (hacked to use the high waistband from the Strides pattern) in the Asheville fabric.

Jody made this Jordan Tee by Made for Mermaids in the Enamel Blue Heathered fabric! Seems like everything coordinates with the Payson Cactus print!

Emily made her sister this Greenstyle Lilie Tank in the Enamel Blue Heathered fabric!

Emily made herself a whole coordinated workout outfit and took it for a run!

Included:

Michael made these Ellie and Mac Urban Legs in Pewter with the Ellie and Mac Be Trendy Halter in Fallen Feathers. Done in time for practice! Dressed to impress!

Speaking of getting to practice, Jess made this cheer-worthy outfit with the new Pewter athletic fabric. The shorts are the CKC Joplin, the tank is the Bella Sunshine Coraline.
