New Arrivals Round Up 12/18/19

Release Date: Wednesday, December 18th, 2019

See what our talented sewists were inspired to make!

Athletics for every activity level

Athletics are a variety of fabrics, each varies in its contents (check the listing) but are grouped together because they're well suited for whatever kind of workout your day brings you.

Nylon content makes these fabrics moisture whisking, polyester makes them soft, spandex makes them stretchy and cotton makes them breathable. Check the specific product listing for the content breakdown. Information about UPF rating is also included for each fabric!

Each fabric weight is also listed. Heavier fabrics will be stronger to sew something more compressible (with more negative ease, meaning it's actually smaller than you and designed to stretch when you put it on, like leggings) while lighter fabrics make for cool tops.

Amelia Lane Designs created this handy info sheet to help understand all the fabric bases!

Coordinating colors for more combinations

ALD strives to source fabrics that coordinate so that as you make pieces they'll naturally coordinate with each other.

In keeping that balance, this stocking includes a 4 solids and 3 prints that not only coordinate with each other, they also coordinate with the existing available athletics fabrics from Amelia Lane Designs!

Build your ultimate athletics capsule by pinning the fabrics you would love to pair to a Pinterest board! The product listings have a handy "Pin It" button!

Meridan

Sonia used Marine solid dri-fit with Meridan print to make this cute colorblocked cowlneck top.

Emily hacked thumbhole cuffs onto the George and Ginger extra top! How clever!

Jess sewed up the Striped Swallow Coachella shorts - so much fun to see different ideas for athletics. I wouldn't have thought of it, but it's perfect!

Laura made a really cut workout set. I love how she added the pop of black in her leggings. So dramatic and elegant!
