It’s Week 2 of the Capsule Challenge!! This week we are focusing on bottoms - shorts, skirts, etc.
Our sponsors for this week are George and Ginger, Greenstyle, 5 Out Of 4, and Rebecca Page!
When it comes to picking what you want to make, comfort is key - I’m not really a lover of pants, but I like comfy shorts and skirts. The summers in Phoenix are extremely hot so jeans don’t exist in my summer wardrobe!
Let’s start with shorts - I think the best thing about making your own shorts is choosing the length and the fit that you’re comfortable with.
I love buying a pattern for joggers because for me that’s a year round pattern. Shorts for the summer, Capri length for the fall, and for that 1 week of true winter we get here in phoenix I can make some pants too!
Here are a few of my favorite shorts patterns:
Skirts are another favorite, I really love the look of a casual pencil skirt with a loose tee and sneakers. Circle skirts and maxis are huge wardrobe staples year round, and super versatile too!
Check out a few of my favorite skirt patterns:
We can’t forget leggings, because leggings are basically the most comfortable invention ever. If you’re planning on doing a workout while you’re on vacation, or even just doing a lot of walking, consider adding some leggings to your capsule for casual comfort!
Here are some of my favorites:
There are so many more patterns to try, it's hard to pick even just a handful. I'm hoping to try some new styles this summer along with my staple pieces. The Warrior Pants and Seaside Culottes are on my list to try next!
